connor: 10 months

time is flying by way too fast. life with this little guy keeps getting more and more fun!
he is trying to pull himself up to standing (using our kitchen chairs, coffee table, tv stand)
he has the best fluffy hair. it sticks up in the back and people always comment on it!
he started sitting up in his crib, so it was time to lower it!
saying mama - and in reference to me!
waving goodbye (sometimes)
he is super happy and bubbly
he no longer wants to lay down in the bath. he loves to sit up and splash.
he is getting faster at crawling
he sleeps on belly with his bum in air (which is the cutest)
he loves watson the glo-worm
he was uninterested in his baby food one night, so we gave him a piece of pizza and it was a hit!
first time trying goldfish (that his siblings left out)
he is enjoying his newfound freedom and is crawling all over. his favorite spots are turning on the x-box and pulling out all the puzzles. he can often be found under table and under the computer desk (pushing the buttons on the printer). these were all favorite spots for logan and emma too.

the thomas the train puzzle is his absolute favorite. he pulls it out any chance he can.

logan's artwork

last year i posted some of logan's artwork from school, and i thought it was time for another installment (before some of these items find their way to the trash. but don't tell logan).
logan has started drawing people and i think it's so fun. this is olaf, the snowman.
i thought this was a fun comparison of his paintings from the beginning of the school year and the end of the school year. the second one was of logan and emma playing in our backyard on the tramp.
i have to include the story behind this cute picture (even though it makes me sound like a bad mom). logan's school had a silent auction and one of the items you could purchase was a picture of your child (taken by his teacher), with a matte your child painted. totally cute, but it was $10 and i kind of didn't want to spend the money of it (because we already had plenty of logan's wonderful artwork at home). i had decided i wasn't going to get it and we were about to leave, when someone asked me if i realized that their was a picture of my child i could buy. the pictures were almost all gone, which meant i was totally the bad mom who didn't want to spend the $10 for my child's work of art! i totally caved to the "peer pressure" (or the pressure of not looking like a bad mom) and bought it!
owls on a branch
a germ
egg carton butterfly
placemat with letter L
starfish
ha! i guess we'll add it to the summer bucket list!
the ninja turtles
they grew these grass caterpillars or hairy caterpillars as logan calls it.
on the last day of school we got the most amazing scrapbook of the year from logan's teacher. it had some artwork he had done, but i especially loved seeing pictures of him doing his thing in the classroom at preschool. logan has loved looking at it too!
i had to post this page from logan's scrapbook because for valentine's day when asked what he loved, he said kara (who is a little girl in his class he has a huge crush on)! and i'm not sure where "blueberries mixed in cereal" came in, since i don't think we've ever had that!
this was logan's artwork that was hung up outside on the last day of school (elsa at the castle).
logan actually did this at church, but i thought it was so funny and wanted to include it. the big guy on the left is satan and the other 2 people are heavenly father and jesus!
emma made herself at home at logan's preschool. when we dropped logan off each morning she would go into his class, say hi to all the kids, dress up and even start painting! you would think it was her preschool! and logan's teacher was so nice to her. emma loved miss maggie! the 2 paintings above and the watercolor below are some of the artwork she did!

st. jude's trike-a-thon

a couple of weeks ago, logan's preschool did a st. jude's trike-a-thon. we met at a park instead of school and they spent the day riding laps...or in logan's case, playing on the playground. he was so excited to ride his bike, but i guess the lure of the playground was too strong! he did bike 12 laps and thanks to some kind family members was able to raise over $100 to donate to st. jude's (which does such amazing things for kids with cancer and their families. and for free! wow)! the kid who did the most laps did 163 (or 168)! and the funny part (well, maybe not for his mom) is that she had said she would donate $1 to st. jude's for every lap he did! i don't think she was expecting for him to do that many!!
of course emma had to get in on some of the action. and i had to take a picture of logan's crush, kara, in her cute helmet! she was a maniac and did 112 laps (i think she did the second most laps of all the kids)!
we hear a lot about lily and kara! logan loves these girls! and i just had to laugh at how both girls struck a pose the second i requested a picture!
logan's 2 best guy friends from preschool, sebastian and noah

starfest

every year denver hosts starfest, a sci fi convention. our old bishop and his wife put the convention on and so over the last 5 years or so, both dave and i have attended (although never together). this year was a momentous occasion however because dave took logan and emma for the first time. for a couple of kids who are very into star wars (especially logan), it was an amazing experience (and i think it made their dad pretty happy too)!
anna and a jedi knight
punching jar jar binks!
there was a girl dressed up as hans from frozen there and when she saw emma dressed as anna, ran up to her in character and was fawning all over her!
emma called the storm trooper a "mommy storm trooper" since she was a girl!
and the day after starfest was star wars day (may the fourth) and the kids had to show their star wars pride!
i think starfest was a hit and they'll be back next year!
