potty training rock star

near the beginning of last month i decided to potty train this girl. this wasn't the first time i tried, but i had high hopes since she was 8 months older than the last time and mainly because she had been going pee in the toilet about once a day for about a month. and let me say this time was soo much better [i'm a big believer in waiting a little bit longer (and paying for those dang expensive diapers a bit longer) and having them potty trained within a few days, rather than potty training for months (and months) because they weren't ready]. this girl was ready and she rocked it!
excited and proud to be wearing big girl undies!
her treat and prize for going potty in the toilet the first time
love those little buns in undies
she got jasmine for her princess castle for going poop in the potty
there's really not too much to tell. she did fantastic and only had a couple of accidents while potty training and they were while she was sleeping. and it didn't take her long to start staying dry in bed. the last couple of weeks she has started waiting too long before going to the bathroom and so she makes it to the bathroom, but not to the toilet. let's just say we're trying to put an end to that quickly! i'm so proud of her and can't believe what a big girl she is! and she is so proud of herself. she loves to tell people that she's a big girl. and it's really nice to only have to buy diapers for 1 kid now!

connor: 7 months

at 7 months, connor:
loves baths. he kicks his legs and splashes water like crazy!
turns around and looks up at us when he is sitting on our lap. logan did this too and we love it!
loves books! it makes him so happy when we read him books. he smiles so big.
when he cries it sounds mostly like a combination of a growl and a cry (a crowl? a gry?)
i mentioned in his last monthly post that he would only nap in his carseat. that week he started napping in his bed with no problem. yea for it being an easier transition than i expected!
is getting 2 more teeth (#3 & #4). the 3rd one has been coming in for about a month and is slow making its way out (pop through already!). they're actually his eye teeth coming in (which i think are especially painful) and so he might look like a little vampire baby!! these dang teeth have totally messed up connor's sleeping. he has been waking up super early (usually between 4 and 5:30). if i nurse him for a couple of minutes he'll go right back to sleep, but i don't want to establish a bad habit of him eating again during the night (since he's been sleeping 12 hours since he was 3 months old and hasn't needed to eat). i'm a little at a loss of what to do. he's been better the last few nights (and has been able to fuss himself back to sleep), so hopefully things are getting back to normal.
he is sitting up like a pro! he doesn't want to lay down anymore. he will happily sit and play with toys for awhile. i absolutely love this stage!
he loves baby food (fruit, not veggies...kinda like his mom). he eats 1 container of baby food every night at dinner (sometimes 2 if he is really starving) and some oatmeal. pretty much we can't feed it to him fast enough. and he loves his sippy cup.
he is getting more hair and even gets a little bed head now. after i nurse him his hair is often fuzzy and a little crazy. it's adorable.
loves watson, the gloworm (we convinced logan to share him, which was fine since logan doesn't use him anymore).
when we play peek a boo, he'll grab my hands and try and pull them away
is still enamored with technology

some everyday moments with this cutie:
he started kicking his legs out of the leg holes of his pajamas (his legs would be all tucked up) and then couldn't get them back in, which would eventually upset him. so to combat that, he now wears pants over his pajamas! haha!
