emma's first bubble bath

i was able to attend women's conference at byu with my sisters at the end of april. it was absolutely amazing! it was so empowering to be around so many incredible women (first and foremost, my sisters)! i was so strengthened by the speakers, amazing women, who in so many instances were sharing lessons they learned from hard, hard experiences. what an inspiring 2 days. 

 

the beloved "y" in the background. i just have to say how much i love byu! it is such an amazing, unique place and i have so many wonderful memories there. it made me so happy to be back there!

at the concert they handed out electric tea lights and it was so awesome to look around and know each little light represented someone. it was a great reminder that we are not alone in this great work!

 i was paying bills in another room and logan was "coloring." apparently he forgot the rule that we only color on paper ;)

 riding nana's chair lift. a total highlight for the grandkids. not as exciting for nana (although she is soo grateful for it. just not happy she has to use it in the first place).

 my cherry tomato. we had a great play date at the park with our friends alison and ashton. unfortunately i forgot the sunscreen and totally fried my fair skinned baby girl. her face actually blistered. it was soo sad. and yes, now i have a thing of sunscreen that stays in the diaper bag. 

dave and i went to see the avengers. it was amazing! here was the invite i left for him the morning of our date. 

gammy and pappy hooked logan up with this superheros t-shirt that night. he loves it and goes around saying, "hulk smash!" and "i am ironman!" it is pretty darn adorable! 

this little girl loves necklaces and layers them on whenever she finds them. it is too cute and i just think she is the most adorable thing out there!

 emma caught a little stomach bug and threw up a couple of times (so sad) which meant no gym time for me. so we decided to get out of the house so i could go on a little run. she passed out by the time we got home.

i got out of the shower to find emma and logan "busy" in my room (read: pulling out anything and everything they could find). i'm at least glad logan decided to use the time studying his letters and emma was getting a jump start on personal progress :) 

you can't really tell in the picture, but emma was throughly enjoying watching logan throw papers all over the place!

 emma seems unsure about the letter "s" (maybe it's the fact that it looks like a snake?!)

and a couple of pictures of the loving siblings. apparently logan is "loving" emma a little too much in the picture above. and while he backed off in the picture below, emma still seems unsure. btw - i think it is funny how logan occasionally takes emma's binky and sticks it in his mouth. i'm sure it's just to get a reaction because he wouldn't even take a binky when he was a baby.

to celebrate star wars day (you better believe we celebrated it! do you know my husband?!) we joined a whole lot of other locals at wings over the rockies air and space museum to check out the x-wing starfighter. it's a scale replica of the original from the star wars movies that lucasfilms had made for promotions to advertise the special edition theatrical release of the original trilogy back in 1996. here's the whole story if you're interested. we were hoping to sit in the cockpit (which they only allow people to sit in on this day each year) but by the time we got there, it was a 2 hour wait (and some people waited 3.5 hours. wow! it was the best turnout they had ever had for the event). we wandered around, checked out the other aircrafts there and got our picture taken with some star wars characters. in the past   the star wars guys have kinda freaked out logan (even when it was his dad in the costume) so we didn't quite know how logan would react with tons of them walking around. he alternated from being scared (and even throwing himself on the floor) to being ok with it as long as he was with dave. 

 he came prepared with his own lightsaber and wore his x-wing starfighter shirt

 dave's old co-worker david is a member of the rocky mountain fan force and was dressed as a rebel pilot for the event

 boba and jango fett. for the last week logan has randomly talked about meeting "boba and fett!"

on the way home logan said, "that was so much fun!" which makes it all worth it (even if we didn't get to sit in the x-wing starfighter. maybe next year...

emma's firsts

technically the week before she had started swiping logan's milk cup when he left it unattended and downing as much as she could before she got caught. but this was the first time it was actually hers!

she finished her bottle and must not have been satisfied because she found logan's cup and went to town.
