easter was wonderful this year. the easter bunny (and grandparents) spoiled the kids and we did our best to help logan understand a little bit why we celebrate easter. for 2 weeks we read (over and over again) from a children's book the story of easter and watched some of the new bibles videos about the last week of the savior's life (one he watched at my parent's house totally scared him and that was the end of that). gammy and pappy were out of town easter weekend, but they made sure to come over before they left with some easter surprises. kathy had put their stuff in cute lunch boxes and logan thought it was pretty awesome!

since logan has been so into "tents" with the couch cushions, the easter bunny thought it was the perfect hiding spot for their baskets. a trail of jelly beans led them from logan's room to the tent. by the way, logan woke up an hour earlier than usual on easter morning and the easter bunny was still in bed and unprepared. luckily the kids are so little and didn't think anything of it when we put them in logan's room so the baskets could be hid.
logan loves his new sunglasses (and we can't get enough of him wearing them), star wars ABC book and finn mcmissle car (the easter bunny was feeling pretty good and thrifty too because the book was from a consignement sale and the car was 99 cents)!

it is wonderful each year to reflect more completely on the incredible gift of atonement and resurrection of jesus christ. i am so grateful for those words that were spoken at an empty tomb, "he is not here: for he is risen" (matt. 28:6). i am grateful for the healing, forgiveness, peace and hope that is available because of my savior.
