shoes

logan has always been interested in my shoes.
usually this is what he does with them

but the other day he decided to give my heels a try...
with socks nonetheless
(please excuse how white trash he looks)

who turned out the lights?

siblings

logan loves being a "big brudder!" he always wants to know where emma is, give her kisses (he gives her constant kisses and it melts my heart), hold her (or have her propped up next to him...where he will sit for a moment and then move causing her to tip over), when she's sleeping he loves to go look at her in her bed, he's gotten pretty good at putting her binky back in when she spits it out (and is screaming), he loves to stand on a little box next to the changing table and watch me change her diaper, he makes cute little squeaky noises when he "talks" to her (she squeaks a lot and i think he is trying to mimic her sound. it is awesome!), and he will even hold her hand in the car (their carseats are next to each other and i am glad he is holding her hand and not hitting her)!

so while logan loves emma, it has still been a bit of an adjustment for him. he has moments where he is definitely more clingy and i think the biggest thing we have noticed are increased meltdowns for no apparent reason. often times nothing will console him and we just have to let it run its course. last week i sent dave a text message that said, "both kids have been on total meltdown, inconsolably screaming at the top of their lungs for the past 20 minutes. i don't know if i should scream or cry." i knew emma was hungry, but logan was such a mess i couldn't sit down and feed her without him going totally ballistic (sometimes when i sit down to feed her, logan decides that is the exact time he needs me;) . eventually he calmed down and things were great again! other than that moment, i'm feeling pretty good about mothering 2 kids. it actually feels "normal," not like my world has been turned upside down. which i guess is a good thing since they're both here to stay!

dave and his gumbies

dave is the favorite and i am ok with that (actually i may be emma's favorite right now because i am currently her dairy queen). he's my favorite too! i love seeing dave with our kids. i can't help but love him more as i see what an incredible father he is.

plus he is creative and always doing fun things with logan, like building this blanket fort in his room. logan thought the "tunnel" was awesome (logan's definition of tunnel is very broad).

easter weekend

we had a wonderful easter weekend. it started out on saturday morning with an easter egg hunt with some friends. we were so glad the weather held out and we didn't get the snow or rain that was forecasted. at first logan wasn't quite sure what to do, but soon enough he caught on. perhaps if we would have told him before there was candy in the eggs he would have been even more motivated. he has a major sweet tooth just like his mom. he still asks for jelly beans periodically, which sadly for him (and me) are all gone.

logan discovered his basket also makes a great hat!

on saturday afternoon we headed to my parent's house for another easter egg hunt. they hid 150 eggs all over their yard! logan's cousins were so sweet to him. they would actually take eggs out of their own basket and put them in plain sight for logan to "find." they loved helping him and were almost as excited for logan to find an egg as they were to find their own.

on easter morning logan woke up to find a trail of jelly beans that led to his easter basket (i think his breakfast that morning consisted solely of jelly beans).

the easter bunny got him a talking gordon train and it has been a huge hit! what a relief because the easter bunny procrastinated and found herself at wal-mart the night before easter. it was a mad house and she wanted to scream. but logan's love for his gordon train has made it worth it! we think gordon may have even surpassed thomas for the current favorite!

we had a delicious easter dinner with dave's family

the easter bunny also visited gammy and pappy's house (and was much more generous than at logan's own house). here is logan checking out his loot with pappy.

our (not very successful) attempt at getting a cute easter picture of the kids

logan looks HUGE next to emma and i had to show off the cute little bunny on emma's booty!

we took some time on easter sunday to watch a movie depicting the life of christ and focusing on his last week. it was a wonderful reminder of the miracle of the resurrection and the blessings that come to each of us because of the atonement. we are grateful for our testimony that "he is risen!"
